A Minimalist/Affordable Approach To Makeup

Hello my Chroniclers (trying out a new name for my readers let me know if you like it). Now if you know me you know that I am makeup OBSESSED but I’m also a FRUGAL girl on a BUDGET. This is why I’ve taken an affordable approach to makeup.

Those of us who are seriously  into makeup you know that every day companies come out with new palettes, lipsticks, foundation etc. and while some formulas may be new there are only so many colors that are in existence. Therefore I decided that having the essentials and affordable dupes is the way to go.

My current makeup in rotation includes :

Foundation (Revlon color stay Cappuccino) $12

Revlon Colorstay

Concealers (la pro in the various color correcting, concealing, highlighting and contouring) $1

LA Girl Pro Concealers

Zuri powder, translucent for setting my hihglight and Coco bronze for setting the face $10. zuri-loose-powder-cosmetic-1-5oz-compact-3-pack-10

Contor and blush powder from BH Cosmetics Contour and blush palette $13 (I got it when it was on sale for $9)

BH Contour and Blush

And my eyeshadow palettes of choice are mostly from BH Cosmetics

I have the Missy Lynn Palette which is my perfect everyday palette (plus the highlighters are to die for) $9

The Second Edition 120 color eye shadow palette (which has every matte and shimmer color you need) which was gifted to me.

And the 88 Shimmer color palette (which has every shimmer you need) which was gifted to me.

My eye pommade is from Ardell $12

and my eyeliner of choice is from Nanacoco (liquid and crayon) $3

My mascara’s are the Revlon Lash Potion or MAC both gifted.

All my makeup brushes are also from BH Cosmetics (can you tell I love them lol).

The Sculpt and blend set and the 11 pc pink a dot brush set I got it while on sale for $15 each and 15 pc Pink Brush set which was gifted to me.

And my lipsticks and other various items that I use all range under $15.

So that’s all the makeup I need for less than $100.

Although I may purchase new items (when the urge for something new comes) I always try to keep it under $20.

This helps you save your coin and encourages creativity from using what you have to recreate expensive looks.

Do you use any of these items? What are your thoughts on affordable beauty? Let me know in the comments below <3
