#Friday Faves

Its Friday once again and I simply cannot wait to share with you what goodies I have been enjoying this week.

Vasaline intensive care cocoa radiant lotion

I’ll say it once ill say it twice I AM OBSESSED WITH SKINCARE. There now that that is out of the way we can talk about this awesome skin moisturizer that caught my eye recently.

This product claims;

In our Intensive CareCocoa Radiant™ Lotion, we’ve combined healing micro-droplets of Vaseline® Jelly, powerful moisturizers, and pure cocoa butter, in a rich, fast-absorbing formula. The result is a lotion that moisturizes to help heal dry and dull-looking skin, bringing out its natural glow.

I have only recently started using this lotion and I can definitely say that I LOVE it. Not only does it have a pleasant cocoa smell but it does the job of keeping my skin super hydrated it also has slightly improved the texture of my skin. At 10oz this is for sure is a product that will last for a while.

Queen Helene mint mask

Since 1930 Queen Helene has been bringing to us products that are not only affordable but get the job done well. On a trip to my local Drugstore I happened to come across the 8oz Queen Helene Mint Mask, which one of my co-workers recently spoke to me about.

This product claims;

“Complexion Solution Deeply Cleans & Refreshes, ideal for Oily and Acne Prone Skin. Our original, all-time favorite green masque instantly absorbs excess oil, extracts impurities and helps minimize the appearance of pores. After use, skin is deeply clean with a fresh oil-free feel and healthy looking complexion.”

With no animal testing involved in the production of this product (which is good for all my vegan readers) the directions state that you should apply over cleansed face while avoiding eye area (please take this seriously as the product does contain mint). After 5 to 10 minutes, rinse with warm water.

How I know that this product works amazingly for my skin is when I used it for the first time and I did not have a lot of time on my hands and the mask had my face feeling super refreshed and rejuvenated.

Coconut Oil

I will forever be in love with the coco. As the song says. Coconut oil has become a staple in my skincare routine for the removal of my makeup.

No matter what type of makeup you wear, it is always a good idea to take it off before going to bed. Removing it allows your skin to breathe. However, the process of removing makeup can traumatize the soft skin on the face, especially the sensitive area around the eyes. Coconut oil makes this hard task easy on you and your skin.

Coconut oil is anti-bacterial, anti-yeast, and also works as a great first-aid cream. Because of its detergent effect, it works well as a makeup remover.

However, it is important to only use the coconut oil as you would use a cleansing oil—no abrasive washcloths or cotton pads are needed. Simply liquify the coconut oil in your hands when it’s in its natural solid state, and gently rub onto dry skin, paying special attention to heavy eye makeup. Once your makeup has been sufficiently melted away, rinse face with warm water and pat dry.

NY’s Naturals Flaxseed Curling Cream

I was first introduced to Nathasia Airall or ‘Sparkle Queen’ last year when she reached out to me about her organic no silicone, no sulfates and no  paraben hair brand. With a range of products ranging from a hair oil, hair cream and my favourite the flaxseed curling cream her products not only feel good they smell good as well.

According to NY’s their curling cream is engineered to help revive, re-hydrate and promote hair growth, with its blend of flaxseed, distilled water, cupuacu butter, mango butter, shea butter, grapeseed oil, olive oil, glycerin and silk protein.

Great for all hair types this does not only moisturize but it clumps curls to perfection.

Ambi Cocoa Butter Soap

I’m always on the hunt for a cleansing product that not only cleanses but is a gentle and moisturizing cleanser. With 3.5 Oz it claims to;

Helps Naturally Moisturize Skin

Visibly evens out your Skin Tone

Enriched with Cocoa Butter to Help Soften and Smooth Dry Skin the Creamy Rich Lather Gently Washes Away Surface Impurities

What I like about this soap is that it does not leave my skin feeling dry or stripped at all. To be fair I do love anything with Coco butter.

Cashmere glow body spray

Bath and body works is a cult favorite. From their skincare to their perfumes almost everyone I know has tried at least one B&B product. Cashmere Glow invites you to;

Wrap yourself in Cashmere! Cashmere Glow envelops you in the warmth of vanilla & golden peach layered with luxurious cashmere musk.

Lavishly splash or lightly spritz your favorite fragrance, either way you’ll fall in love at first mist! Our carefully crafted bottle and sophisticated pump delivers great coverage while conditioning aloe mist nourishes skin for the lightest, most refreshing way to fragrance!

Yes this is a bit dramatic but ill be darned if it is not true. This 8oz bottle will have you smelling absolutely delicious. Now I am not a huge fan of overpowering smells but this one overpowers you gently (if you get what I mean) and is very long lasting.

Pro Bronzer by Absolute New York

I stay bronzed 24/7 and 365 days a year and this is a result of me being a big fan of the look. I recently discovered the Pro Bronzer by Absoulte New York and this completely  trumped my previous BH Cosmetics Bronzer.

This product says;

  • Pro Bronzer Natural, sun kissed radiance
  • With zero effort

Yes a very short, sweet and to the point description. This bronzer compliments my skin-tone perfectly and could be built up for a more dramatic look. With 1.02 oz its a very large compact and a little goes a long way.

Black Radiance Concealer Stick

Sticking in the realm of bronzing I have been super into cream contour lately. Not only is this 0.18oz concealer stick a DREAM to blend out it looks super natural.

Black radiance® Concealer Stick easily conceals imperfections, minimizes flaws, and covers small areas such as under-eye circles. This product is available in three shades to even out the various skin tones of African American women.

I use the medium shade to contour and it works amazingly. It then proceed to add a powder contour powder on top.

Beauté Basics Sahara Gold Chubby Eyeshadow Pencil

This pencil is an oldie but a goodie. I received this pencil in an Ipsy bag last year and I rediscovered it in my makeup drawer. A product that has multiple uses is a plus in my book and this can be used for eyeliner, eye-shadow and highlight a triple threat;

This Chubby Pencil doubles as an eyeshadow and eyeliner. Made of a blend of mineral oil and powder, this creamy pencil glides on effortlessly. This pencil also can be sharpened with a sharpener for a large pencil. Tip: Use as an all over color or sharpen it to reach the inner corners of your eyes.

Although it is agonizingly  hard finding a sharpener for this pencil it does have a great payoff and is long lasting.

Zuri setting powder in Coca Bronze

Now if you are obsessed with the beauty industry like I am you’ve seen that dark setting powders such as the Laura Mercier and Black Opal. Of course if you are like me and are a beauty girl on a budget you know that those prices are wayyyy up there. So instead we have dupes. Cue the Zuri Setting Powder which is not only 1.5oz but it is a great light powder that sets my makeup to perfection.

ZURI Loose Powder is the professional’s choice for setting your make-up and giving a smooth, even finish to your complexion.

Use after applying and blending Zuri Liquid or Creme Make-Up. With a powder puff, press powder firmly on face and neck. Do not smooth on or rub over the face. Dust off excess powder using a powder brush.

This powder is great and can be layered if need be for a more intense finish.
